Only the NTFSformat willallowthe PC to manage files. This setup has zero problems working on my actual Wii and has worked for years. Homebrew apps and USB Loader filescan be stored on the FAT32partitionof the HDD replacing the SD card. You can also use a WBFS manager that supports it, like Wii Backup Manager. I keep the USB loader itself and it's covers/data as well as my GameCube images on the FAT32 section, and my Wii games (because I do actually have some games larger than 4GB) on the NTFS section. USB Loaders are able to use any FAT32 or NTFS formatted drive to store games. I really would far prefer to be able to get a FAT32/NTFS drive working on this. Use Wii Backup Manager (as u/MattHasIdeas mentioned) to convert your ISOs to WBFS files and WBM will put them in the right.

Wii games ripped from CleanRip will be in ISO format, but as far as I know WBFS files are the only Wii formats supported in ULGX. The only thing that seems to work is if I format a USB Flashdrive with a single WBFS partition. GameCube games should be in ISO format and located under /games/Game Name GAMEID/game.iso. It can see the drive, it's game partition, and it's partition size. I tried the very same drive that works perfectly on my Wii (fat32 for homebrew/gc and ntfs for Wii), a USB harddrive formatted in NTFS, a USB harddrive formatted in FAT32/WBFS (which was my old Wii HDD before I migrated to NTFS), and a USB Flashdrive formatted to NTFS. Wii iso USB Loader Channel used to be compatible only with wbfs - Wii Backup File System, but now it works with normal NTSC formated external hdd. Install homebrew channel on Wii and play backup iso files or downloaded torrents from external hard drive or usb flash drive. and it stopped the lockups, but it's not seeing any games on the drives. Nintendo USB Loader GX or simpley Wii USB Loader download. I Googled several suggestions that said try switching the Loader's IOS from the default 249 to 58. and by "hard" I mean not even holding down the power button shuts off the system, I am forced to physically unplug it. 99% of the time it will hard-lockup on the "Initialize USB Device" message. Mainly, I am having a ton of trouble trying to get it to load anything from a USB drive. Your hard drive must be formatted to fat32 (if partitioned the first partition must be fat32 and set to primary), if needs to be formatted to 32kb clusters or.
